わら天神いけばな教室は、京都の神社という静かな空間で、嵯峨御流のいけばなを基礎から学ぶ教室です。
ただ形をなぞるだけでなく、花や枝の「出生の姿」をよく観ること、自然の景色を思い描くこと、そしてご自身の感覚に戻る時間を大切にしています。

少人数制のため、流れ作業のようなレッスンではありません。
一人ひとりの手元を丁寧に見ながら、必要な言葉だけを添えて進めていきます。
回数を重ねるほど、技術だけでなく、花の見え方や空間の感じ方が少しずつ深まっていく──その変化を大切にした教室です。

お稽古は日本語のテキストを用い、日本語で進行しますが、言葉や漢字で分からない点があれば、随時ご質問ください。

Bringing flowers into everyday life.

The Waratenjin Ikebana Class is a place to learn the fundamentals of Saga Goryu ikebana in a quiet Shinto shrine setting in Kyoto.

 

Rather than simply following forms, we place importance on carefully observing the original life and natural posture of flowers and branches, imagining natural landscapes, and returning to one’s own senses through the act of arranging.

 

Because classes are kept small, lessons are not conducted in a rushed or mechanical way.
Each participant’s hands and process are observed attentively, with only the words that are truly necessary offered along the way.

 

As you continue, not only your technique but also your way of seeing flowers and sensing space will gradually deepen.
This class values that quiet, ongoing transformation.

Participants from overseas who are living in Japan are also welcome.
Classes are conducted in Japanese using Japanese texts, but if there are any words or kanji you do not understand, please feel free to ask questions at any time.

季節の花や枝に触れながら、いけばなの基本から少しずつ深めていく、当教室の基本クラスです。
初めての方は「花と向き合う時間を楽しむこと」から。経験のある方は、「なぜこの形になるのか」「どのような景色を表しているのか」を丁寧に感じ取りながら学びます。

花材の組み合わせや本数、進め方は、お一人おひとりの経験やペースに合わせて調整します。
少人数制だからこそ、一人ひとりの手元を見ながら、必要なポイントをその場でお伝えします。

Regular Class (Standard Class)

Fee: 7,500 yen per session

Please note:
In December, all classes focus on New Year arrangements. Due to the special seasonal materials required, an additional material fee of 2,000–2,500 yen will be added to the regular lesson fee for all classes.

 

This is the foundational class of our studio, where you will gradually deepen your understanding of ikebana while engaging with seasonal flowers and branches.

For beginners, the focus begins with simply enjoying the time spent with flowers.
For those with prior experience, we explore more deeply: Why does this form emerge? What kind of landscape is being expressed? You will learn to sense these elements with care and attention.

The combination and number of materials, as well as the pace of instruction, are adjusted according to each participant’s experience and comfort level.
Because the class is small, I am able to observe each arrangement closely and offer guidance tailored to what is needed in the moment.

With each session, the way you see flowers—and the feeling of arranging them—will gradually evolve.

About lesson frequency
In ikebana, both form and sensitivity develop through repeated practice.
We generally recommend attending twice a month; however, you are welcome to come at a pace that suits your schedule and comfort.

Trial Lesson (one time only): 5,000 yen
If you are new, you are welcome to begin with a trial session.

Please contact us via the “Reservation & Contact” button.
If you decide to continue after the trial, a one-time material and textbook fee of 3,000 yen (textbook + supplementary materials) will be required.

作品づくりにとどまらず、花材選び、構成の考え方、表現の組み立て方などを、目的や経験に合わせて個別に指導します。
ご希望に応じて、撮影の視点や表現のまとめ方などもお伝えします。

Q.いけばなは初めてでも参加できますか？

 

はい。レギュラークラスは、いけばなが初めての方にも安心してご参加いただける内容です。

花の扱い方や基本的な考え方から、丁寧にお伝えします。

 

Q . Can I participate even if I don’t speak Japanese?

Yes. Classes are usually conducted in Japanese, using Japanese textbook, but we proceed with consideration for international residents living in Japan. Explanations can also be given in English when needed, so please feel free to join with confidence.

Q.持ち物は何が必要ですか？

​

特別な持ち物は必要ありません。

花材・道具はすべてこちらでご用意いたします。

手ぶらでお越しください。

※花バサミをお持ちの方はご持参ください。

 

Q.クラスの所要時間はどれくらいですか？

​

約90～120分です。

花と向き合い、静かに集中する時間を大切にしています。

Q.キャンセルポリシーについて教えてください

​

本クラスは少人数制で行い、花材は各回ごとに事前に準備しております。

そのため、キャンセルにつきましては以下の点をご理解いただけますと幸いです。

• 開催日の4日前までのキャンセル：キャンセル料はかかりません

• ​3日前～開催日当日のキャンセル：受講料の100％を申し受けます。

​​

※体調不良ややむを得ない事情がある場合は、できるだけ早めにご連絡ください。

　状況に応じて、次回への振替など柔軟に対応いたします。
